I’m Santi Cuellar, a Certified Advanced Pistol Instructor with over 25 years of experience training both defensive-minded civilians and law enforcement professionals. Over the years, I’ve logged more than 1,000 hours of professional development and had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students who take their safety seriously.
I know what it’s like to be in armed conflict and prevail — that experience shaped how I teach and why I focus on real-world defensive skills rather than theory. One of my former students, a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy, once shared this message after surviving a deadly encounter:
“There’s a little bit of you in me, Santi — in the form of training and skills you passed down. You were able to assist in that fight that night. Happy to have you on the good side of evil.”
That reminder keeps me grounded: training saves lives.
